The Designer Residency Program at An And Foundation provides a unique platform for designers to immerse themselves in an environment that seamlessly integrates nature, technology, and sustainable farming resources. This residency offers dedicated time, well-equipped spaces, and extensive resources, allowing designers to innovate and refine their work within a supportive community. Participants have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including fellow designers, artists, chefs, and members of the local community and schools. This program not only nurtures creative practice but also facilitates professional networking and growth, driving the creation of pioneering design solutions.

  • Professional Opportunities:

    • Resident Artist Open Studio: Once a month.

    • Resident Artist Exhibitions: Once per residency

    • Artist and Art Talks, Workshops by Artists

    • Media Publication, Events, and Exhibitions: Opportunities for institutional talks and teaching engagements.

    • Workshops with Chefs and Designers

    Program Operational Provisions:

    • Daily Accommodation: Provided on the property.

    • On-Site Car Use: Available by sign-up.

    • Facilities Access: Includes a woodshop, ceramics shop, and a personal studio/room per artist.

    • Travel Stipend: Up to $800 USD per residency.

    • Visa Support: Provided if necessary.

    • Meals: One meal per day prepared by the resident chef, if a chef is on site.

    • Work Donation: One piece of work to be donated to the foundation at the end of the residency.

    • End-of-Program Exhibition: Artists must participate in a concluding exhibition.

    • Community Engagement: Artists are required to work one day per week on farming, ecological preservation, or community engagement programs.

    • Experience Letter: A letter detailing their experience, including suggestions and comments, to be provided at the end of the residency.

    • Bi-Weekly Artist Talks and Workshops: For discussing questions, addressing problems, tracking progress, and facilitating necessary communications.

    • Open to artists working in any medium (visual arts, performance, digital arts, etc.)

    • Demonstrated commitment to a professional art practice

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a community setting

    • Willingness to engage in farming, ecological preservation, or community engagement activities one day per week

    • Availability to participate for the full duration of the residency

    • Previous experience in artist residencies or community engagement is a plus but not required

  • Enrollments: TWO ENROLLMENTS PER YEAR

    • April 5th - July 10th

    • July 25th - October 31st
